Intergenerational Cruise Trip on Sept. 25th 2011(Postponed from Sept. 11th)

"Your kind Attention please…

Dear all:

" Due to the fact that President Obama is scheduled to visit New York for the 10th anniversary memorial meeting of Nine Eleven, the security is going to be tightened up, causing traffic dislocation. We consider it prudent to postpone our cruise again. The cruise is now scheduled for Sunday Sept. 25, 2011, from 11 AM to 3 PM. We look forward to having all of you with us in even greater numbers. With the change in time, it would be possible for us to enjoy the sights both during the day and at dusk when the lights begin to come on. Come and enjoy the two perspectives of New York, and have fun with music, dances, games and raffle etc., and of course boxed vegetarian lunch."

Please read the following instructions:
Venue: One World Fair Marina, Flushing Meadows,NY 11368. Pier One (next to Citifield Stadium).

Registration time: 9:30 AM to 11:00AM

Boarding time: 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM

Cruise time: 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Lunch will be served on the cruise.

Reporting time: 9:30 AM for people coming by Subway
Transit: Take the # 7 subway or LIRR Port Washington line to the Shea Stadium/Willets Point Station.
Pick up: Available from Shea stadium/Willets Point station to the Venue at 9:30 am.
Please look for India Home van and the other volunteer cars (with signs of  ''India Home'').
Call Mr. Joel Palma at 917-288-7626 for pick up.

Reporting time: 10:00 AM for people coming by cars. Free car parking is available at world fair Marina.

Registration Desk will open at 9:30AM.
Group leaders for registration desk: Ms. Jaya Bahedkar, Mr. Chandubhai Patel, Ms. Avinash Suri, Ms. Darshan Seth, Mr. Sankar Kothapalli and Mr. Mahesh Velama.

The group leaders will be supplied with registration tickets for each of their registrants, and they would be responsible for distributing them to the people in their group, and also for explaining to them to hold on to their stubs for both entry to the boat and for lunch. Each registrant should hold his/her ticket for checking at the entry point, and we need to discourage presenting a wad of stubs for group entry except for children. This would cut down the amount of time people have to wait for entry after registration.

Since we have 400 plus people to check in on the boat, there would be some time lag between checking people on our list, and official time for boarding the boat (10:30 AM). So please bring your umbrellas, sun visors etc. to protect you from the sun. It promises to be a clear day with temperatures in high 80s, and there should be a good breeze on the marina.
